Founded in 1880, Maison Joseph Drouhin is built on a family tradition, know-how and five generations of expertise. The Domaine comprises 100 hectares of vines among some of the greatest names in Burgundy. Originality of terroir, style of vintage, finesse, elegance, complexity, harmony and longevity: this is the Drouhin style, made of dreams and pleasure.
In 1880, Joseph Drouhin founded the House that bears his name in Beaune. The passion has been passed down through the generations, as the family has innovated and enriched its know-how. Today, the fourth generation of Drouhins is at the helm of the House, combining tradition with a pioneering spirit. It is currently the fifth generation. The Joseph Drouhin estate covers 100 hectares in Chablis, Côte de Nuits, Côte de Beaune, Côte Châlonnaise and Mâconnais. It has been built up over time through the acquisition of parcels in prestigious growths, 90% of which are Premier and Grand Crus, covering a total of 60 appellations. Joseph Drouhin's deep-seated conviction led him to adopt organic viticulture practices in 1988 and to convert his entire estate to biodynamic viticulture in the 1990s. These practices perpetuate the very essence of the winemaking tradition: letting nature speak for itself. With a rare attention to detail, each wine is a faithful expression of the terroir and the vintage. Each wine is unique, yet there is a Joseph Drouhin style that combines balance, harmony, finesse and elegance. This spirit is also reflected in every aspect of the House's work and in the art of living it has created. Through its network of friends and customers, Maison Joseph Drouhin brings the best of Burgundy to the finest tables in France and around the world.
